Significant endorsement by the public organisation of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China of Murdoch University’s quality of programmes delivered by Kaplan in Singapore

The Chinese Service Center of Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE), an affiliation to the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, announced yesterday the accreditation of all degree programmes offered by Murdoch University delivered via Kaplan in Singapore (Degrees awarded after July 2011).

Given the increasing number of Chinese students pursuing overseas education, one of CSCSE’s primary roles is to provide the necessary professional services and support for them during their studies abroad and after they return.

In its effort to offer more employment opportunities to returning graduates from foreign institutions, the CSCSE conducts extensive and thorough reviews of select transnational programmes and confers accreditations to worthy institutions. The recognition of the degrees from these accredited institutions will give Chinese graduates more options in public service, global and multi-national organisations, and the private sector.

Murdoch University and Kaplan in Singapore are proud to receive this accreditation. This is a further testament to the quality of the programmes to which both the institutions have conferred over 10,000 graduates in Singapore since the inception of the partnership in 2006.

Dr Peter Waring, Murdoch University Singapore Dean, says “We are indeed very proud to have received this accreditation from the Chinese Government. As one of the World’s Top 100 Most Internationalised Universities, with a global reputation for quality teaching, research and satisfaction, this accreditation will bring tremendous opportunities for our Chinese graduates to contribute back to their nation, not just in the private sector, but also the public service. We welcome Chinese students to discover the first class learning experience we offer in Singapore.”

Murdoch University having extended its strategic partnership with Kaplan, Singapore’s award winning private education institution and recipient of the 4-year EduTrust certification, to 2025, Chief Operating Officer and Provost, Associate Professor Rhys Johnson asserts:

We offer our heartiest congratulations to Murdoch University for this achievement. Our solid and strategic partnership has empowered both institutions to offer quality programmes to benefit far reaching individuals across all of Asia and the rest of the world. To be one of the few private education institutions in Singapore recognised by the CSCSE, it is an encouragement for us to stay focused on our commitment to offering quality programmes, to which have benefitted more than 65,000 graduates through Kaplan since 2007.”

Currently offering options of more than 250 double major degree programmes, Murdoch University and Kaplan will continue to review and introduce degree programmes that students have passion in and be industry-relevant in their career pursuits.
