After 10 years in the banking sector, Yogaraj Easu decided to enhance his career by furthering his education. He chose to pursue a Bachelor of Business in Banking and Finance (Double Major), awarded by Murdoch University, at Kaplan in Singapore because of the programme’s ideal duration and flexible study schedule.
“With a diploma in banking and finance from Nanyang Polytechnic, I was exempted from certain modules and could enter the second year of the course.
This lets me complete my degree in 16 months instead of 28 months,” said Yogaraj, who will graduate at the end of the year.
Murdoch University is recognised by the Australian government and candidates from Murdoch University may be considered for appointment into the Singapore Public Service. The dean from Murdoch University is based in Singapore to oversee the academic aspects of the programmes as well as ensure a high standard of academic delivery here. In addition, students will be awarded with a full degree transcript, giving them a competitive edge in the job market.
Although it has been 11 years since he went back to school, Yogaraj has been coping well and likes the flexibility of studying at his own pace. He takes two modules every semester because of his busy work schedule and attends classes once a week. He also finds the lecturers approachable and knowledgeable, and likes the conducive studying environment in school.
