Programme taken: Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Marketing, Advertising and Public Relations (Top-up)

I chose the Degree in Marketing, Advertising & Public Relations with BCU because of its triple major offering. The combination is unique, practical and can be completed within 18 months. Most importantly, the Kaplan campus is located in central Singapore, which makes it convenient for me to travel between work, school and home.
The main reason for me to have signed up for this programme is the unique curriculum and subjects. As a Course Coordinator at my workplace, I find some subjects such as Digital Marketing to be really useful in my career. I was glad that the programme structure suited working professionals. Moreover, students are assessed based on either projects or examinations and these make the programme more manageable for working adults like me.

Programme taken: Bachelor of Laws (Honours) (Top-up)
As an experienced decision maker, I was very keen to acquaint myself with the Singapore Legal system. I decided to sign up for the Law Degree under Birmingham City University (BCU) because it is a reputable university for academic excellence in UK with modules relevant to my interest in Common and Civil Law. Kaplan has the right support team and facilities such as a simulated courtroom for students to practice legal advocacy skills. The well-planned schedule provides more time for working adults like myself to do self-revision and group project discussions.
While I was one of the more mature students, I felt comfortable participating in class discussions with fellow students of different age groups and backgrounds. The lessons helped me tremendously as I was able to better contribute my knowledge in the form of pro-bono legal advice to needy residents at a legal clinic, which I started in 2017.
As lessons progressed, the learning experience warmed my passion in law and I envision myself joining the legal community in 5 years’ time and contributing more to the society by helping others overcome their challenges in the legal system.
