This programme will enable you to build strong and productive work relationships in teams. It covers participation in networks, how to develop team cohesiveness and to resolve conflict.
At the end of the programme, you will be able to:
- Establish mutually beneficial working relationships with network members to improve knowledge sharing and networking opportunities
- Facilitate information exchange among network and team members to support organisational and team priorities
- Communicate expectations to ensure your team is focused and clear about its role and purpose
- Establish team processes & support diversity in your team to encourage collaboration and shared responsibility for decisions and actions
- Identify the roles and responsibilities of your team members to minimise conflicts that may impact team performance
- Work with your team members, monitor and review agreed actions to resolve conflicts
Encourage People
This programme will enable you to work effectively as a team leader, to develop your team members’ skills and to encourage your team members to be more effective. It covers identifying skill development needs, how to address these skill needs and motivating your team members to develop their skills.
At the end of the programme, you will be able to:
- Review your team organisational business plans and work with them to identify new and emerging skill requirements
- Identify learning and development opportunities that support the learning and development plans of team members’ skills
- Encourage and support your team members to develop and share their skills and experiences to enhance team effectiveness
- Provide on-the-job instruction, coaching and mentoring to increase the capability and performance of your team members
- Communicate expectations of team performance in a positive manner and support them to identify and address their skill requirements
- Provide opportunities for your team members to take on added responsibilities and learn in the workplace

You can deliver your vision to others easily through story telling, whether it is a story of success or failure. In order for employees to be motivated through storytelling, three steps need to be taken: Tell the Story, Act the Story and Live the Story. Therefore this programme is structured into three modules in nine chapters:
- Module 1: Tell the Story

Module 1: Tell the Story
- Chapter 1: Theme to communicate vision, values and expectations to team members.
- Chapter 2: Storyboard will help identify organisational values that support strategic priorities.
- Chapter 3: Script writing of role model behaviours that demonstrate organisational values in the workplace.
Module 2: Act the Story
- Chapter 4: SMART Delivery to review organisational objectives and business plans and identify the requirements of your team and to create a team operational plan to support team progress towards the defined objectives.
- Chapter 5: Lead team planning activities to identify trends and issues impacting on your team and its productivity.
- Chapter 6: Work within the budget and time to market by allocating resources required for the implementation of objectives.
Module 3: Live the Story
- Chapter 7: Communicate clear, inspiring goals, plans and priorities to ensure team members support and buy in.
- Chapter 8: Model strong leadership by demonstrating application of organisational values, behaviours and governance priorities in all actions.
- Chapter 9: Engage team members to contribute towards the organisation’s strategic priorities.
